Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) is an innovative, knowledge-based organisation, supporting the development of land-based industries and communities through academic courses and professional development, specialist research and development resources and expert advisory and consultancy services.
SRUC’s work is wide-ranging but there is a particular emphasis on agriculture and related sciences, rural business development and management, horticulture, and rural resource and environmental management.
As a small specialist institution, with around 8000 students at a wide range of levels from access courses to PhD, SRUC offers a learning environment that blends academic and commercial expertise to deliver vocational higher education in a unique environment.
Everything it does is driven by its vision is to be a leader for innovation and sustainable development in the rural sector. As Scotland’s only land-based Higher Education Institution, SRUC has a diverse range of students united in their choice to study courses which make a difference. Our graduates leave us well equipped and enthusiastic to play their part in the rural, land-based and environmental agendas. They will shape a future which affects us all from the food we eat, to the air we breathe and from the buildings we live, work and study in to the outdoor space we enjoy.
